HCM City Customs implements clearance procedures for nearly one million declarations

According to HCM City Customs Department, the number of enterprises operating import-export through HCM City’s border gates in April is nearly 19,600, a drop of 7% over the same period last year.
The total number of import and export declarations from the beginning of 2020 to April 22 that have implemented clearance procedure by the HCM City Customs Department, including 970,441 sheets, down 8.54%. In particular, the number of export declarations is 451,227 sheets, down 13.46% and the number of import declarations is 519,214 sheets, down 3.79%, compared to the same period in 2019.
The total accumulated import and export value of goods as of April 22, 2020 reached $33.526 billion, up 7.5% over the same period in 2019. Of which, the total export value reached $16.0937 billion, up 6.62% and the total import value reached $17.4325 billion, up 8.32%.
Notably, in recent times, lots of declarations of exporting rice have been cleared. From April 19, 2020 to the end of April 25, 2020, Saigon Port Area 1 Customs Branch has implemented clearance procedures for 251 declarations, with 4,374 containers (over 114,065 tonnes) of exported rice.
Besides that, the Saigon Port Area 1 Customs Branch also carried out clearance procedures for 12 declarations of exported sticky rice, with total amount of rice has been cleared is nearly 4,000 tonnes (157 containers).
