HCM City Customs proposes to cancel tax debt for a company

VCN – HCM City Customs Department proposes the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) to cancel a tax debt of VND6.6 billion for a foreign company.

According to HCM City Customs Department, Yee Chung Shoe Joint Venture Enterprise (District 12, Ho Chi Minh City) carried out procedures to import goods at the Investment Customs Branch and had tax debts more than ten year ago.

The department has checked the profile of Yee Chung Shoe Joint Venture Enterprise and proposed the GDVC to cancel tax debts for this company.

The company has an overdue tax debt for ten years and was dissolved before the deadline under Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Decision 269 dated November 26, and is subject to debt cancellation as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 85 of the Law on Tax Administration.

The Investment Customs Branch has applied measures to enforce tax debt. However, the company stopped operation since 1997, HCM City Department said.
