Ho Chi Minh City Customs increases revenue collection by nearly VND1,000 billion

In the first two months of the year, Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department carried out customs procedures for import and export goods with a total turnover of about US$21.068 billion, increasing by 21% over the same period in 2021.
Export turnover reached about US$8,514 billion, increasing by 19.3% over the same period in 2021. Although export turnover increased, according to the analysis of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, many main export products have decreased. For example, textiles and garments reached US$0.529 billion, down 28.3%; computers, equipment and accessories reached US$2.276 billion, down 22.3%, compared to the same period last year.
Particularly, seafood exports grew well, reaching US$0.514 billion, up 69.6% over the same period in 2021.
Import turnover reached US$12,553 billion, up 22.2%. In particular, imported petroleum products reached US$0.618 billion, up 29.8%, compared to the same period in 2021. There were many remaining items that decreased, in which, automobiles of all kinds reached US$0.062 billion, down 58.1%; iron and steel reached US$0.323 billion, down 24.2%; computers and accessories reached US$2.473 billion, down 29.6%.
Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department expected the revenue collection in March 2022 to be about VND11,000 billion. Accumulated to the end of March 2022, the revenue will reach about VND30,239 billion, reaching 25.9% of the ordinance estimate; achieved 25.3% of the striving target, an increase of 4.2% (an absolute increase of VND1,218 billion) compared to the same period in 2021.
