Huu Nghi Customs processes export procedures for more than 7,000 tons of durian
From the end of 2022, Vietnam's durian has officially carried out the export procedure by paying total tax to the Chinese market, opening up great opportunities for many Vietnamese enterprises.
In only one month (from the beginning of September 2022), the export value of this item has witnessed a skyrocket. Statistics in October 2022 from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development showed that durian exports to China reached nearly US$50 million, an increase of more than 4,000% compared to the same period in 2021.
Also, since durian products were exported by paying total tax, many enterprises have chosen Huu Nghi international border gate (Lang Son) to register to carry out customs procedures for shipments. Therefore, according to Mr Hoang Khanh Duy, Deputy Director of Dong Dang-Lang Son Economic Zone Authority, it was necessary to ensure the satisfaction of an export condition to export Vietnam's durian to this potential consumption market.

During and after the Lunar New Year 2023, many Vietnamese enterprises promptly transported the first batch of durians to Huu Nghi international border gate to export to China with the desire to sell a lot.
When nearly 10 containers of durian arrived at Huu Nghi international border gate, Van Hoa Import-Export Co., Ltd (headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City) quickly registered for carrying out customs procedures to export to China in the early days of this year. Mr. Nguyen Ve Quoc, the representative of Van Hoa Import-Export Co., Ltd, said that all customs procedures, vehicles, and phytosanitary work were implemented strictly by agencies and competent forces at the border gate to ensure the conditions under the Protocol signed between the two countries for exporting by paying full tax before the clearance. In particular, Huu Nghi Customs has actively guided and facilitated enterprises' durian shipments to be exported to China quickly within the same day.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ve Quoc, this year, the price of durian is very good, ranging from VND 160,000 to 170,000/kg, much higher than in previous years. Hence, it has brought high profits to farmers. With the current selling price, if harvested at this time, farmers will earn over VND 2 billion/ha and a net profit from VND 1 to 1.5 billion/ha. Besides that, it has brought great profit value to both businesses and planters when ensuring the conditions for exporting durian under the form of paying tax fully to China, which is set by agencies, sectors, and competent forces at the border gate.
According to Mrs. Hua Thi Hong, Deputy Director of the Huu Nghi Customs Branch, currently, Huu Nghi international border gate mainly carries out procedures for two key agricultural products of Vietnam exported to China: durian and dragon fruit products. These are two fruit items that are chosen by many businesses to carry out export procedures Huu Nghi international border gate. Therefore, besides ensuring 100% of shipments are carried out customs procedures quickly and conveniently, Huu Nghi Customs has also actively coordinated with competent forces at the border gate to arrange channelization and clear agricultural products on the same day to avoid arising costs, time and affecting the quality of goods of enterprises.
According to the statistics, from the beginning of 2023 to the present, nearly 400 shipments of agricultural products and fresh fruits with a total of nearly 25,000 tons of goods are being exported through Huu Nghi international border gate under the form of paying tax fully. In particular, the competent forces have carried out export procedures for about 200 shipments with over 7,000 tons of fresh durian products.
Mrs. Hua Thi Hong emphasized that to increase clearance capacity, especially to sharply increase shipments of Vietnam's agricultural products to Chinese market, the unit has facilitated terms of administrative procedures, minimized unnecessary procedures, and even sent customs officers to support businesses outside working hours. Thanks to creating good conditions, many businesses have chosen to carry out import-export procedures through Huu Nghi international border gate.
Fruit exports are vibrant right from the beginning of the year thanks to a stable market, especially the potential Chinese market, which will be a positive signal for a good and successful year of Vietnam's agricultural industry towards the target of exporting US$ 4 billion of agricultural products in 2023.
