Import – export turnover at Hai Phong Customs tops $8 billion in April, increasing by more than 47%

Exports achieved nearly $3.88 billion, increasing by 51.8% over the same period in 2020 while taxable turnover reached $23.45 million, rising by 168%.
Import turnover hit $4.54 billion, an increase of 43.7%, while taxable turnover was $1.72 billion, jumping by 29.3%.
Some notable import items include automobiles at $105.32 million, increasing by 71.6%, automobile components and accessories reached $69.52 million, rising by 266.1%, motorbikes reached $1.19 million, increasing by 34.1%; gasoline reached $70.1 million, increasing by 126.5 %, beer and wine reached $1.11 million, increasing by 31.4%, iron and steel reached $262.18 million, rising by 24.7%; cosmetics reached $0.72 million, increasing by 65.4%, and machinery and equipment reached $1.65 billion, increasing by 48.4%.
In April, Hai Phong Customs Department handled procedures for 184,882 declarations, with, 101,184 import declarations and exports numbering 83,698 declarations.
The unit generating the most declarations is the Industrial Park and Export Processing Zone Customs Branch with 43,955 declarations, meanwhile Hai Phong port area 1 Customs Branch has the fewest with 5,179 declarations.
Regarding revenue collection, by the end of April, Hai Phong Customs Department had collected VND 20,771 billion, reaching 37.09% of the target set by the Ministry of Finance (VND 56,000 billion), reaching 35.87% compared to the target of the General Department of Vietnam Customs (VND 57,900 billion); up 12.82% over the same period in 2020.
The Hai Phong area earned VND 18,130 billion, reaching 36.63% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance (VND 49,500 billion), reaching 35.69% of the target set by the General Department of Vietnam Customs (VND 50,800 billion), reaching 34.21% of the target assigned by People's Committee of Hai Phong City (VND 53,000 billion); an increase of 12.54% from the same period in 2020.
