Lang Son Customs contributes more than VND1.1 billion from violation handling

In the first quarter, Lang Son Customs handled 232 cases with infringing goods valued at VND6.1 billion. To date, the unit issued 228 administrative sanction decisions with a fine of more than VND1.1 billion.

Typically, on February 22, at landmark 1232, Chi Ma border gate Customs Branch seized two derelict cartons containing 1,600 Covid-19 quick test kits, branded SARS-COV-2 Antigen test kit, made in China.

Most recently, on March 12, Huu Nghi Border Gate Customs Branch made a record of administrative violations in the field of industrial property against Thuan Thanh Import-Export One Member Limited Liability Company for the act of "Importing goods bearing signs of trademark infringement". The infringing goods include 228,000 iron cabinet hinges, trademark TOPTEN, BLUMGOLD, infringing the rights to the trademark "blum", worth more than VND308 million.

According to Lang Son Customs Department, the situation of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and illegal cross-border transportation of goods will continue to see complicated and unpredictable developments. The main items include consumer goods, high-tax goods, aquatics and aquatic products, drugs and medical supplies for pandemic prevention with increasingly diverse and sophisticated tricks.

To promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle violations, Lang Son Customs has directed border-gate customs units to strengthen information collection about enterprises, especially those that have been handled for this violation; tighten customs management and supervision at inspection sites and gathering places; manage warehouses, enhance online management to prevent acts of smuggling and fraud in customs declaration.

In addition, the unit has also been proactively reviewing and controlling import and export goods, especially sensitive items, in order to promptly detect acts of smuggling, trade fraud and tax evasion causing loss of revenue to the state budget.

Moreover, Lang Son Customs will also strengthen coordination with other authorities in the area to collect information, strengthen patrols and controls at border crossings to prevent violations.
