The local customs department released a report on the imports and exports of the province in the first eight months of this year.
Exports were mainly related to tanned pig skin, weasel coffee, woven bamboo baskets, plywood, handicraft wooden furniture, recycled PE pellets and agricultural products.
Imports included cars, auto and motorbike parts, iron and steel products, textile raw materials, footwear, rubber products, fishery products, wood and wooden products, computers, electronic products and components, mobile phones and parts, textile fibers, machinery, household goods, chemicals and fabrics.
As of August 16, local customs officials collected tariffs on imports and exports worth US$2,504 million, a rise of 66% compared with the previous year.
The local department collected VND372.9 billion in fees under Resolution 01/2019 dated July 12, 2019 of the People's Committee of Lang Son province.
It has also coordinated with other agencies to process procedures for 240,503 vehicles across the border gate and 713 trains through Dong Dang International Railway Station.
According to a representative of Lang Son Customs Department, the department’s revenue jumped due to the sharp increase in trade. Some enterprises have transported imported goods by land instead of air and sea to save costs and time.
