On December 19, on Highway 1A located in Hoa Lac commune, Huu Lung district, Lang Son police and market management force checked a 16-seat passenger car driven by Ho Cong Quang (was born in 1961, lives in Lang Son city, Lang Son province) as the driver showed suspicious signs.
Through inspection, the force discovered that there were two cardboard boxes inside the vehicle containing 460 packs of 555 cigarettes (20 cigarettes/pack) without invoices and documents proving legal origin.
Before that, on December 17, the market management force of Lang Son also inspected a car driven by Mai Xuan Ninh, resident in Bac Giang province. At the time of inspection, the car was transporting more than 6,000 units of products, originating from outside Vietnam, including all kinds of pants, shirts, towels, shoes and socks.
Ninh presented sales invoices issed by the business household of Nguyen Thanh Tuan, located in Kho Da village, Tan My commune, Van Lang district with a total value of goods exceeding VND 70 million.
Recognising the number of suspected goods were contraband, the force determined that Nguyen Thanh Tuan's business household had bought and collected smuggled goods, then issued sales invoices to sell to buyer.
Immediately after that, the forces made a violation record and sanctioned the business household of Nguyen Thanh Tuan with the amount of VND 40 million, forcing to return illegal benefits gained from conducting administrative violations to State budget with the amout of more than VND 70 million.

On December 15, forces in Van Lang district also checked and discovered that the car with license plated No. 12C-088.10 was transporting 1,050 life jackets and men's and women's sweaters of all kinds. According to the invoice issued by Loc Thuy Hanh shop, (located at the main road, Tan Thanh commune, Van Lang district, Lang Son province) the goods were worth VND 29.5 million.
Also according to the Lang Son Market Management Department, recently, the force seized many express delivery trucks transporting illegal goods. On December 13, the market management force inspected express delivery truck carrying license plate No. 29H-334.40 which was transporting a large number of bags, wallets, socks, clothes and cosmetics. All the above goods had no papers, invoices and documents proving legal origin. The value of the shipment was about VND 50 million.
According to a representative of Lang Son Market Management Department, implementing the directive on the plan of strengthening market control on the occasion before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2021, the force has strengthened officials to control the market to prevent and handle illegal trading goods. In particular, the force worked with the police force to inspect vehicles transporting goods through the area.
Through inspection and control, over the past time, the Lang Son Market Management force has seized many vehicles transporting a large amount of smuggled goods through the area. To have a solution, the force verified these goods. As a result, all of the goods recently seized were contraband, collected by the buyers from unclear sources in the market then legalised by invoice and sold to traders in inland provinces.
Currently, the Market Management force is taking these goods to be stored at the warehouse awaiting verification and making decisions for appropriate handling.
