Currently, the Ministry of National Defense has connected with the NSW and handled procedures for people, means of transport in or out seaports, inland water ports, offshore oil ports and administrative procedures in the field of border control at border gates through electronic border gateways connected with the NSW portal.

In 2016-2010 period, the Ministry of National Defense has been deploying 12 seaport procedures: electronic border procedures for foreign ships, boats and seamen in transit from seaport gates which have been not piloted the electronic border procedures to seaport gates which have piloted; and electronic border procedures foreign ships, boats and seamen in transit between seaport gates which join the pilot implementation of the electronic border procedures.

The electronic border procedures for Vietnamese and foreign ships and seamen on entry and exit at seaports; and border procedures for ships and boats attached with flags countries bordering with Vietnam on entry and on exit at seaports of Vietnam bordering with those countries.

Accordingly, 7 administrate procedures shall be implemented at land border gates in the 2018-2020 period: border procedures for people on entry and exit at the private land border gates for routes Vietnam – China, Vietnam – Laos and Vietnam – Cambodia.
