More than 11,000 imported shipments forgotten at seaports and airports

According to HCM City Customs Department, through the statistics of backlogged goods at seaports, airports and post offices, as of November 15, 2019, there were more than 11,000 shipments, including 2,900 containers and nearly 9,000 parcels of goods, imported to seaports, airports and post offices but the owners had still not come to implement procedures of receiving goods.
Cat Lai port hadthe largest numbers of backlogged goods, with 2,778 containers and over 300 items of bulk cargo. According to Saigon port area 1 Customs Branch, the above shipments were imported to Cat Lai port over three months but the owners had not come to implement procedures to receive them.
In terms of backlogged parcels, HCM City Express Customs Branch had more than 6,000 parcels. Those backlogged parcels were imported via express services to cargo warehouse but no one came to receive the goods.
At the cargo warehouses of Tan Son Nhat International Airport, nearly 2,300 parcels imported via airway were still backlogged.
HCM City Customs Department directed its Customs Branches to coordinate with port and warehouse enterprises to classify and list the backlogged goods, handle them in accordance with law as well as facilitate enterprises operating warehouses, yard and port at the peak time of the end of the year.
