More than half a billion in tax exempt for enterprises importing anti-pandemic products

According to Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, five enterprises imported goods for the prevention of COVID-19 according to Decision No. 155 / QD-BTC dated February 7, 2020 and Decision No. Decision No. 436 / QD-BTC of March 27, 2020 of the Ministry of Finance were exempt from taxes worth more than VND 537 million.
Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department said in the first four months of 2020, exports and imports increased compared to the same period in 2019, but in May, import and export turnover fell slightly, especially import turnover decreased by 3.2% compared to the same period in 2019, making State budget revenue fall sharply compared to the same period in 2019.

In May, Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department collected only VND 7,721.55 billion, down 32.4% from the same period in 2019, making total budget revenue in the first five months only hit nearly 35% of the estimate (VND 115,000 billion).
