VCN - The Customs Branch at Nam Can border gate (Nghe An Customs Department) has collaborated with the Border Guard Station at Nam Can border gate (Nghe An Border Guard) to detect and arrest a perpetrator driving a car with Lao number plate  transporting 42kgs of firecrackers to Vietnam across the Nam Can border gate.

Accordingly, at 15 p.m on 21 January 2017, while checking and supervising at the border gate, the Customs Control Team discovered and arrested a perpetrator named Cao Duc Luan, norn in 1978, permanently residing at hamlet 1, Dien Thinh commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province who was carrying the firecrackers to Vietnam.

The exhibits seized at the site was 42kgs of firecrackers of all kinds: nearly 2.000 small ball firecrackers, 500 big ball firecrackers, 10 tape firecrackers and 9 firework boxes, 29 “Ông sư” firecrackers and a Huyndai car with Lao number plate.

Through initial declarations, the perpetrator Cao Duc Luan bought the above firecrackers and fireworks to use in the Tet holidays.

Currently, the Border Guard Station at the Nam Can international border gate has completed the dossiers for prosecution to hand over to competent authorities for settlement.
