Through an exchange with Customs News’s reporter, leader of Import – Export Duty Division (Quang Ninh Customs Department) said that among the 70 enterprises, many have owed debts from the year 2000 and earlier.

Currently, the total amount of debts of 70 enterprises managed by the unit is 113 billion VND.

According to the Debts management processing and instruction of General Department of Vietnam Customs (in Document No. 6503/TCHQ-TXNK dated 6/11/2018), Quang Ninh Customs has instructed Customs Branches under its Department to send documents to Business Registration Division (Provincial Department of Planning and Investment) where enterprises conducted their business registration and monitor, update information (from Department of Planning and Investment on the National Information System about business registration) in accordance with regulations.

However, there are some cases where customs branches have sent documents many times but did not receive any feedback from the Business Registration Division (Department of Planning and Investment) about implementing coercive measures by revoking the Certificate of Business Registration.

To handle the above problems, Quang Ninh Customs has proposed the General Department of Vietnam Customs discuss with the Business Registration Management Department (Ministry of Planning and Investment) to direct the Department of Planning and Investment to inform why they did not revoke the business registration certificate so the customs authority has the basis to implement the next measures.

Besides that, Quang Ninh Customs has sent a request to the Provincial Department of Planning and Investment (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Cao Bang) to provide information on coordination results of applying coercive measures to customs authorities soon.
