Regulate quickly the volume of goods transporting to Tan Thanh border gate

VCN - To minimise damage for the enterprises, the People's Committee of Lang Son Province requested Lang Son Industry and Trade Department notify about the situation at the border gate to the Industry and Trade Department and the local import-export business community to help businesses catch up and properly regulate the number of goods transported to Tan Thanh and other border gates in Lang Son.

According to the statistics from Lang Son Customs Department, in the first seven months of 2020, total import-export turnover of goods through Tan Thanh border gate exceeded $211 million, down 51.4% over the same period in 2019; turnover through Coc Nam border gate topped $138 million, down 79% compared to the same period in 2019. From the middle of July to the end of August 12, the import and export activities through two border gates mentioned above decreased sharply compared to the point of time of May and June.

Director of Dong Dang Border Gate Economic Zone Authority - Lang Son province Nguyen Trong Nghia said by the end of August 12, the amount of agricultural products at Tan Thanh border gate was backlogged by up to 580 vehicles due to tightening medical inspections by Chinese authorities for drivers transporting exported goods from Vietnam to China.

At the same time, continuing to deploy solutions to remove import and export difficulties and attract businesses to import and export goods through Tan Thanh and Coc Nam border gates.

At the examination of anti-smuggling, the situation of goods import and export and Covid-19 pandemic prevention in the border area of Van Lang district on August 13, Vice Chairman of People's Committee of Lang Son Province Duong Xuan Huyen asked the People's Committee of Van Lang district and competent forces in the district to continue to implement solutions to remove difficulties for import and export goods through Tan Thanh and Coc Nam border gates.

Vice Chairman Duong Xuan Huyen emphasised that Dong Dang Economic Zone Authority - Lang Son, Lang Son Customs Department and Lang Son Industry and Trade Department should continue to implement solutions to attract more businesses to import and export goods through the two border gates.

At the same time, the Lang Son Industry and Trade Department needed to notify the import and export situation of goods in recent days to the Industry and Trade Department and local import-export business community, allowing businesses to grasp the situation and regulate the amount of goods transported to the border gates.

Besides that, Lang Son Health Department needed to focus on collecting Covid-19 samples for the drivers of the specialised driver team at Tan Thanh border gate in order to quickly clear the amount of vehicles in the parking lot of Tan Thanh border gate, reducing costs, time and damages for businesses.

Vice Chairman Duong Xuan Huyen stressed that Lang Son Customs Department should continue to create maximum conditions for import and export goods to be cleared quickly, saving costs and time for businesses at the two border gates.

The Covid-19 pandemic prevention at border gates, trails and open paths in Van Lang district has been strictly and thoroughly controlled by the Border Defence – Customs force of Tan Thanh to block all activities of illegal entry and exit country as well as illegal transport of goods across border. The two forces have set up 20 blocking points and arranged forces to perform duty 24/7 in border areas.
