Revenue reaches nearly VND38 billion from post-clearance audit

According to the latest information from the Post-Clearance Audit Department, from January 1 to February 15, the whole sector carried out 66 cases of post-clearance audits. In particular, 22 cases were on-site inspections and 44 cases were conducted at the customs office.
The total amount of tax assessment and penalties for administrative violations is VND16.75 billion, which has collected into the state budget an amount of VND37.74 billion (including the revenue transfer from the previous inspection results), an increase of 14.4% over the same period last year.
Besides the inspection, collection and payment of the budget, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has continued to promote the work of post-clearance audit, paying close attention to and closely directing the guidance of post clearance audit activities nationwide and answering questions from businesses.
This is due to a decision to amend Decision 575/QD-TCHQ dated March 21, 2019 on the promulgation of the Post Clearance Audit Process, which integrates the process of Authorized economic operator (AEO) management.
Furthermore, research to advise on amending Decree 128/ND-CP dated December 19, 2020 on sanctioning of administrative violations of acts related to post-clearance audit towards clarifying forms of fraud on the origin of exported goods. From that, taking as a basis for continuing to fight against fraud of origin of exports in the implementation of free trade agreements (FTAs).
In addition, the General Department of Vietnam Customs develops orientation plans, detailed plans and organizes the implementation in post-clearance audit; conducting a review, making a list of enterprises assigned to local customs departments to carry out the post-clearance audit in the first months of 2022 with thematic guidance documents.
