According to An Giang Police, on December 7, while performing patrol to control smuggling in the area, when arriving at Hoa Long 4 hamlet, An Chau town, Chau Thanh district, the anti-smuggling working group of Chau Thanh district police discovered that a truck on Highway 91, the route Chau Doc - Long Xuyen, driven by Le Phu Tan (was born in 1993, residing in Binh Thuy district, Can Tho city) had suspicious signs, so the vehicle was stopped for a check.

The working group discovered behind the vehicle's trunk there were many boxes of goods inside containing a large number of smuggled goods, including laptops, household appliances, massage machines, steam blower, supplementary foods, ceramics and pesticides.

At the time of inspection, Le Phu Tan could not present invoices and documents to prove the origin of the goods. Initially, Tan confessed he transported the above goods from Chau Doc to Can Tho city. When arriving at the above location, he was discovered and detained by the police.

The working group made a record to temporarily seize all of the above goods for further investigation.
