Smuggling in Lang Son is cool down

Base on the statistics of Lang Son Department, from the beginning of the year until now, the unit has detected, seized and handled 203 cases, collected revenue to State Budget over 3.5 billion vnd. In that, arresting 44 smuggling cases of illegal transport goods across the border; 151 cases of administrative violation; 3 cases of intellectual property violation, counterfeit good and money; 5 cases of other violations.

Typically, on 5/4, in the area near milestone 1038 in Dao Vien Commune (Trang Dinh Ward, Lang Son province), Tan Thanh Customs Branch coordinated with Lang Son Police and Lang Son Border Defense Forces to arrest Nong Ton Bao (38 years old, lived in Bang Tuong town, Quang Tay, China) while was transporting 11kg of meth from China to Vietnam.

Earlier, on 18/3, at Tan Thanh Border Gate, Tan Thanh Customs Branch also collaborated with PA61 Division, PC45 (Lang Son Police) and Tan Thanh Border Station to arrest Nguyen Thi Thao (was born in 1984, lived in Thanh Chieu, Phu Cuong, Ba Vi, Hanoi) when was transporting illegally 1 kg of meth from China to Vietnam.

In particular, on 6/3, in the area of Tan Thanh Border Gate, Tan Thanh Customs Branch coordinated with Tan Thanh Border Post to surprise Nguyen Van Nam (was born in 1988, lived in Tuan Thinh Hamlet, Tan Thanh Commune, Lang Giang District, Bac Giang province while was transporting 573 kg of firecrackers from China.

Furthermore, recently, on 22/4, while implementing inspection and control duty, the competent force under Doc Quyt Integrated Control Station discovered a truck with license plate BKS 29C – 434.85 on the route of Dong Dang – Hanoi. The truck was carrying nearly 700kg of firecrackers made in China.

Discussing to the correspondent of Customs News, Mr. Nong Van Vinh, Deputy Director of Lang Son Customs Department said that, before the complicated movements of smuggling activities, the units under Department have proactively set up, planned and handled big cases related to alcohol, foods, household goods, electronics, refrigeration, etc.

The units also deploy the post plan at the trails, tightly control at the border gate area, working 24/24 in the critical areas ... Besides that, the units need to figure out, grasp the situation in order to find the objects, the gathering point to destroy the root of smuggling lines, Mr. Nong Van Vinh emphasised.
