Strengthening discipline in work performance

According to Director Nguyen Tien Loc, in order to facilitate and reduce time for cargo clearance, by following the spirit of Resolution 19 / NQ-CP, Hai Phong Customs continues to accelerate administrative reform, strengthen the work discipline, and actively supports enterprises in the process of implementing import and export procedures.

Accordingly, Hai Phong Customs has signed regulations on dealing with problems associated with the business association that operate export and import businesses in the area in order to promote partnerships, create channels for supervision and criticisms from enterprises. At the same time, Hai Phong Customs also wanted businesses to participate in supervising the customs service activities.

Furthermore, according to Director Nguyen Tien Loc, in the process of performing tasks, the leaders of the unit have paid close attention to inspiring and informing customs officials about their sense of attitudes in performing their duties with the motto “Devoting guidance – polite attitude - Quick manner".

However, a part of customs officials have not really cooperated with the business community ... causing negative troubles for enterprises. Hence, to overcome this issue, Hai Phong Customs will improve internal management, supervise the implementation of customs officials in the process of implementation procedures. At the same time, reviewing all activities of units, apply information technology, and improve the system of legal documents to facilitate enterprises.

Hai Phong Customs also determined to strengthen the partnership Customs - Business as a key task, to further improve the investment and business environment in the area, gaining the cooperation and sharing from the business community. At the same time, it would help the customs authorities to control the task performance of customs officials.

Moreover, at the conference, General Director of Vietnam Customs Nguyen Van Can emphasized the issue that some customs officers conducted corrupt activities at Hai Phong Customs. After that, the Hai Phong Customs Department had exchanged information to clarify violations committed by customs officials in their task performance, resolutely settle and not cover up and tolerate individuals who have committed corruption, whether the official is at a high level or not. Additionally, Hai Phong Customs is the leading authority in quick and definitive handling, providing detailed information timely and bringing enterprises into the process of supervising the task performance of the Customs.

Currently, the General Department of Vietnam Customs is developing a draft, "Regulations on inspection of task performance and handling of violations of officials in customs sector". This document regulates the entire behavior of officials and employees in the sector when performing their duties; anti-harassment and corruption; raise the spirit, sense of responsibility of customs officials in the implementation of public duties, transparency in the handling of violations.

As a result, General Director Nguyen Van Can requested the units to study and promote the experience and lessons of Hai Phong Customs Department in dealing with similar cases.
