Tan Son Nhat Airport Customs: Efforts to pickup special flights

On September 6, the Entry Luggage Customs Procedures Team under Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch checked in for a special flight carrying immigration experts on Cathay Pacific flight CX799.
After the plane landed, the Customs branch and the competent forces at the airport arranged officers and machines to support passengers with quick procedures.
To ensure the health of its citizens and prevent the spread of the pandemic, the airline strictly took security, safety, sanitary and epidemiological measuresduring the flights. After landing at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, those on the flight were placed under medical monitoring and concentratedquarantinesaccording to regulations.
In June, the Customs Branch at Tan Son Nhat International Airport border gate carried out procedures for 25 flights, with nearly 1,700 passengers; in July, 35 flights, with more than 3,000 passengers and August 63 flights, with nearly 3,400 passengers. |
Earlier, on September 5, more than 400 entry passengers on the Vietnam Airlines flight from South Korea landed at Tan Son Nhat international airport.
Passengers on the flight included children under the age of 18, the elderly, pregnant women, workers with expired work permits, people without residence, students without accommodations due to dormitory closures, and others in extremely difficult cases. The Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea arranged staff members to support passengers at the airport.
On September 4, the Vietnam Airlines flight bringing nearly 350 Vietnamese citizens from Australia and New Zealand to the country landed at Tan Son Nhat airport.
Phan Minh Hung, Leader of the Entry Luggage Customs Procedures Team under Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch, said to facilitate the pick - up and check-in procedures for flights, the branch arranged officers with protective clothing and quickly carried out procedures for the flights. The branch work with other authorities at Tan Son Nhat International Airport and HCM City International Medical Quarantine Centre to implement medical disinfection measures for baggage, quickly carry out procedures and bring passengers to concentrated isolation areas according to regulations.
According to the Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch, due to the impact of the pandemic, entry and exit flights through Tan Son Nhat International Airport this year have almost stopped. The airport only picks up and checks in for special flights. Only from the beginning of September up to now, the Tan Son Nhat international airport Customs branch has carried out procedures to pick up 11 flights with a total of nearly 1,300 passengers.
With a high sense of responsibility to perform dual tasks of ensuringcustoms clearance and the pandemic prevention, Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch, especially the Exit and Entry LuggageCustoms Procedures Checking Teams,are the first contact to pandemic prevention but are always optimistic and encourage each other to fulfill their tasks, the leader of the Customs branch at Tan Son Nhat International Airport shared.
