Tens of new Nissan cars at Hai Phong Port have not carried out import procedures

Regarding the shipment of new Nissan cars that are overdue for customs procedures at Hai Phong port, on May 5, the leader of Hai Phong Seaport Customs Branch of Zone 1 (under Hai Phong Customs Department) told Customs News that until this morning, there have been no individuals or organizations carrying out customs procedures for the shipment.
“The shipment was brought to the port area managed by the branch atthe end of 2019.So far, the deadline for carrying out customs procedures is overdue (90 days from the date of goods arrival), so the branch has notified organizations and individuals involved to carry out procedures,” the leader said.
On May 5, the media representative of NissanVietnam said that the shipment was imported by the the sales department and this department will carry out import procedures.
“The company will carry out import procedures, but this is the task of another department and the media department did not comment on this issue,”Nissan Vietnam’s representative said.
On April 20, Hai Phong Seaport Customs Branch of Zone 1 issued a notice (2970/TB-HQKV1) tofind owners of 26 containers and two LCL shipments backlogged at Tan Vu Port, and nine shipments including eight containers and one LCL shipmentat PTSC Dinh Vu port, and nine LCL shipments at Hoang Dieu Port.
Among the backlogged goods at Tan Vu Port-Hai Phong, there are tens of new Nissan cars which arrived at the port but no individuals or organizations have carried out customs procedures.
According to the notices of Customs units, the deadline for receiving goods is 60 days from the date of the notice. For the perishable goods, frozen goods, goods which are dangerous and toxic substances, goods with expire date of less than 60 days, the deadline for receiving goods is 15 days from the date of notice.
If the deadline is overdue, organizations and individuals that do not carry out customs procedures, Hai Phong Seaport Customs Branch of Zone 1 will handle these shipments as per provisions in Circular 203/ 2014 / TT-BTC.
