The highlights of this meeting were that Customs focused on research, discussing hot issues related to further reforms and simplification of administrative procedures, facilitating the business community according to Government's policy such as: Resolution 19-2016/ NQ-CP on the tasks and key measures to improve the business environment, enhance national competitiveness from 2016 to 2017, further target to 2020; Resolution No. 35-2016/ NQ-CP on supporting and developing enterprises by 2020; the implementation of project results to improve operational efficiency of electronic clearance systems - VNACCS / VCIS and Single Window; and implementation of the project to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of specialized inspection for exports and imports.

As Deputy Director General of General Department of Vietnam Customs, Mr. Nguyen Cong Binh said, the implementation of Resolution 19, Resolution 35 of the Government, the action plan of the Ministry of Finance, General Department of Vietnam Customs had set out specific plans in the Customs area. The highest goal is to reform, simplify procedures and reduce time of customs clearance, reduce costs for the business community.

At the conference, representatives of Departments of Customs such as: Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Binh Duong presented to clarify more results and tasks. They also discussed measures to implement  tasks of Customs, such as State budget; anti-smuggling and combating commercial fraud and counterfeit products .

At the conference, Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Do Hoang Anh Tuan commented that the professional operation of the General Department of Vietnam Customs is meticulous and effective. The speeches at the video-conference aimed to specify issues, further strengthen the administrative reforms to facilitate businesses and improve the efficiency of customs management.

In addition, Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Do Hoang Anh Tuan appreciated the results of the General Department of Vietnam Customs for the first 6 months of 2016. He also directed, suggested the goals, important solutions which the General Department of Vietnam Customs must carry out from now until the end of the year to complete the assigned tasks.

Customs achieved comprehensive results in all aspects of the work for the first 6 months, which is an important factor to finish duties until the end of 2016.

In order to fulfil the assigned tasks, from now to the end of the year, the General Department of Vietnam Customs shall focus on 5 key tasks including:

First, strive to complete the project on schedule and hot programmes in 2016.

Second, implement the tasks of revenue to 270.000 billion Vietnam dong for 2016.

Third, strengthen Customs control, combat smuggling and commercial fraud.

Fourth, continue reforming Customs modernization, simplify Customs procedures to create favorable conditions for import-export activities and improve the efficiency of Customs management.

Fifth, improve and focus on the efficiency of the work force.
