Through inspection and examination, HCM City Tax Department settles more than VND 11,000 billion of tax

According to HCM City Tax Department, this year, with enterprises affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the tax inspection and examination was carried out firstly by the units for businesses with high risks; at the same time, putting into inspection and examination plan for cases that are less affected by the pandemic, but have fluctuation in turnover and profits. For cases facing difficulties due to the impacts of the pandemic, inspection and examination will not be conducted to create conditions for enterprises to concentrate on overcoming difficulties and develop production and business activities.
In the first five months of 2020, HCM City Tax Department reviewed and examined 9,686 dossiers of tax declaration at the tax authority, requiring additional tax declaration and tax assessment of more than VND 9 billion. In particular, 76 dossiers must be declared additionally, 266 dossiers of tax assessment and 3,984 dossiers are proposed to be examined at the enterprise.
Besides checking dossiers, HCM City Tax Department also conducted on-site inspections at 6,224 businesses, with tax collection and fine of VND 704.6 billion, reduced VAT deduction of VND 234 billion, reduced losses of VND 8,838 billion and refused to refund tax of VND 85.1 billion.
Thus, through inspection, the HCM City Tax Department increased VND 713.6 billion of additional tax declaration and tax collection; reducing VAT deduction of VND 234.3 billion, reducing losses of VND 8,841 billion.
Besides that, the unit conducted 289 cases of inspection, with the amount of tax collection and fines of VND 622 billion, reduced value-added tax deduction of VND 32 billion, and losses of VND 828 billion.
