Mr. Mark Laming appreciated the good relationship with his colleagues working at Vietnam Customs.

Mr. Mark Laming emphasized that the geographical boundary separating nations was no longer an obstacle for criminal organizations to commit illegal acts. Therefore, in order to effectively prevent international criminal networks, it is necessary to continue close cooperation. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding showed that the bilateral cooperation relationship was an important factor to address the root of the transnational crime.

The UK Border Protection Agency hoped to learn practical experiences from Vietnamese partners in order to apply to UK border force.

Mr. Mark Laming affirmed that the exchange of knowledge in thematic training sessions such as searching ships, identifying key containers and managing intelligence would bring direct and effective impacts on border protection between the two countries.
