The manager of Vung Ang Seaport Customs Branch, Dao Chi Thanh, said that in 2022 the branch had implemented many solutions to support and facilitate enterprises in the area. Accordingly, the branch has attracted 58 enterprises to open import and export declarations, increasing the State revenue.
Motivated by the revenue from Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation, accounting for 97% of the total revenue of the branch, Vung Ang Seaport Customs Branch has regularly grasped the business production status of enterprises, instructed procedures and removed difficulties in import and export activities for quick customs clearance.
In the year, the branch has processed over 3,600 declarations with total trade of US$4,667 million. Thereby, the branch has collected over VND8,721.48 billion. This is an outstanding achievement for a year of excellently accomplishing tasks by the Ha Tinh Customs Department.
The import and export activities across Vung Ang-Son have increased. Containers are waiting for customs clearance along the road to Vung Ang Port.
Mr Dao Chi Thanh said that at the end of the year, many enterprises boost business productivity, so the volume of imports and exports across Vung Ang Port surged, especially the sharp increase in transit goods such as iron ore and Kaly from Laos to China increased. So the branch mobilized officers to classify and supervise ships and import and export goods.
The representative of SAS Vung Ang Logistics Company Limited said that the Customs had applied information technology in customs and import and export management, facilitating enterprises anytime and anywhere. In addition, motivated by implementing an online public service system, VNACCS/VCIS and e-tax payment system, the administrative procedures have been transparent, reducing cost and customs clearance time. This supports the development of businesses shortly.

The orientation in 2023, Mr Dao Chi Thanh said the branch was assigned a revenue target of VND10,000 billion in 2023, which is the highest revenue. To achieve this target, the branch has developed plans for revenue collection for each month and quarter.
In addition to major enterprises contributing revenue to the branch, Vung Ang Customs Branch expects to collect more revenue from importing machinery and equipment to create fixed assets for building VinES Battery Manufacturing Factory by Vingroup.
However, Vung Ang Port still lacks a large warehouse system for gathering goods. Besides, the cargo loading and unloading infrastructure have not been modern, and Port No. 3 has not yet been put into operation, causing difficulties for import and export activities across the port.
Shortly, the local government should invest in Vung Ang port infrastructure to further promote import-export activities, contributing to increasing budget revenue for the locality, said Thanh.
