At the meeting, Editor-in-Chief of Customs News Vu Thi Anh Hong thanked Mr. Ludovic Thanay for his visit.

Editor-in-Chief Vu Thi Anh Hong introduced the publications of Customs News, including the print edition, e-Customs Magazine in Vietnamese (https://haiquanonline.com. vn/) and e-Customs Magazine in English (https://english.haiquanonline.com.vn/).

Customs News has organized communication activities related to Vietnam Customs’ management in its publications. In addition, Customs News has held many talk shows, forums and conferences with the participation of the Customs authority and related parties.

To widely disseminate performance by Vietnam Customs, Customs News has selected notable contents to publish in e-Customs Magazine in English to serve international readers, especially those from different customs administrations.

Besides, information about customs operations of other countries have been also updated on the e-Customs Magazine in Vietnamese.

Ms. Vu Thi Anh Hong said: “Customs News wishes to cooperate with the WCO’s Communication and Events Department to hold communication activities at the 2023 WCO Technology Conference and Exhibition, which will take place in October 2023 in Vietnam”.

Mr. Ludovic Thanay suggested the production of journalistic works at the 2023 WCO Technology Conference and Exhibition such as video clips, interviews, or technical support through online meeting software.

For effective communication cooperation, Mr. Ludovic Thanay hoped that the parties will discuss concretizing and effectively implementing communication contents for the conference in October 2023.

Earlier, on March 7, Mr. Ludovic Thanay worked with Vietnam Customs to survey the place and plan for the organization of the 2023 WCO Technology Conference and Exhibition.

The 2023 Technology Conference and Exhibition is an important and outstanding annual event of the WCO, jointly held by WCO and Vietnam Customs Administration under the theme “Embracing the Digital Age: Leveraging Technology, Fostering Innovation, and Nurturing the Next Generation of Customs Professionals”.

The conference includes discussion sessions, seminars, and exchanges of experience on technology applications in customs operations. The exhibition booths introducing modern technologies in customs operation will run in parallel to the conference.
