Duong Minh Tue, Member of the Executive Board of HAWA, said March and April each year are considered the largest order time of the year and have become anannual meeting point for international buyers at many fairs in Asia. However, the pandemic made these annual events impossible. Therefore, the Vietnam Furniture Matching Week in anonline form will be an effective solution in the current situation.

The highlight among the activities of the Vietnam Furniture Matching Week is the Furniture Sourcing Day event on April 14 in HCM City with more than 300 guests who are manufacturers, representative offices, suppliers at home and abroad to build a community connecting Vietnamese producers with representative offices and promotelong-term partnerships, including big names in the industry such as Kingfisher, IKEA, Ashley, Rowico, Target, Carrefour Vietnam, Test Rite, Trade point andMADE.COM.

During the event, buyers can join a tour of the factory, showroom by product line, segment and market to learn about the process as well as production capacity, progress to contracts, providing furniture andhandicraft products to serve the market.

The Vietnam Furniture Matching Week will reach global shoppers with activities taking place on the online exhibition platform hopefairs.com. The online B2B Matching and Online exhibition on online platforms will introduce more than 100 Vietnamese manufacturers with a total area of more than 20,000 m2, nearly 10,000 products, creating favourable conditions for the home. intuitive purchasing experience and easy connection to production enterprises. Both international and localcustomers can visit the HOPE platform at https://hopefairs.com to admire the latest designs of Vietnam's furniture industry.

Nguyen Chanh Phuong, Vice Chairman of HAWA said that, in 2020, although the Covid-19 pandemicis widespread in most of the main import markets of Vietnamese furniture, the export turnover of the whole industry still sawan increase of 16.4%, reaching US$13.17 billion, 5.4% higher than the plan.

According to the CSIL report, by 2020, Vietnam has surpassed Poland, Germany, and Italy and is only behind China among countries exporting wood and wood products.

In 2021, in addition to the export target of US$14 billion, the wood industry should pay attention to other important indicators such as labour productivity, product value, social and environmental sustainability factors. In the context of Covid-19 still raging, to overcome challenges and achieve goals, it is essential to make use of technology, digital transformation and diversified forms of customer approach.
