Harada Vietnam Company and SMC Manufacturing Company expressed their great interest in the implementation of the Digital Customs project. They want to know the specific implementation plan soon so that they can understand and prepare for this digitization to be most effective.

Director of Dong Nai Customs Department Phung Thi Bich Huong said the Customs sector has begun the implementation of the digital Customs project in 2020. With the digital Customs model, Customs procedures are carried out completely in the digital environment, anytime, anywhere on any devices connected to the information technology system of the Customs authority. This model will apply advanced science and technology such as IoT, blockchain, AI, Big Data, and cloud computing. Thereby, customs procedures will be automatically processed in the paperless environment before, during and after customs clearance.

The Digital Customs model will allow Customs to manage borders intelligently by digital ecosystem; manage in a way that provides the best digital services and connects smart, fair, transparent and consistent processing throughout the customs clearance system.

Ms. Phung Thi Bich Huong said that the digital Customs model will benefit both management agencies and businesses. Specifically, after completing the Digital Customs project, businesses are able to declare Customs procedures anytime, anywhere on any internet-connected devices with the Customs authority, reducing customs clearance time and costs for businesses. At the same time, this model allows businesses to use the free declaration software provided by Customs. Businesses are also allowed to implement declaration once to carry out many times through the national single window system, and businesses can easily monitor the entire processing of State management agencies, not only the customs authority.

Regarding the implementation of the project, Ms. Phung Thi Bich Huong said currently, the Customs authority is in the preparation stages within the Customs sector, and has not yet interacted with businesses. In the near future, businesses will be required to connect with the system of the Customs authority.

Ms. Huong also hopes to have in-depth working sessions on the connection between the system of the Customs authority and businesses.
