According to the General Department of Customs, over the years, banks have contributed a lot to state budget collection and implementation of the project of e-tax payment and customs clearance 24/7 (referred to as the 24/7 project) of the Customs sector. The coordination of state budget collection and implementation of the24/7 projectbetween commercial banks and the General Department of Customs has achieved certain successes, contributing to creating favorable conditions, reducing procedures and costs for taxpayers during the process of paying money into the state budget.

Accordingly, the above banks have signed the agreement on coordination in State budget collection with the General Department of Customs before November 2015. However, up to now, a number of legal bases and methods of coordination in collection (authorized collection, collection under Project 24/7) have changed and are no longer suitable.

Therefore, to continue implementing administrative procedure reforms under the Government's direction and ensure proper legal bases for implementation, the General Department of Customs proposed that the above banks should contact the General Department of Customs to re-discuss and finalize contents of cooperation agreement before officially signing.

The General Department of Customs emphasized that if on March 25, the above banks do not contact and coordinate with the General Department of Customs to complete the agreement, the General Department of Customs would announce nationwide suspension of the coordination in State budget collection withbanks.
