Hai Phong Customs focuses on revenue collection and anti-revenue loss

Made great efforts to achieve a revenue target of VND56,000

The likely increase is thanks to administrative reform, trade facilitation, anti-revenue loss work and the growth of import and export of items such as car, machinery, equipment, petroleum product, and auto parts. The revenue from major items was VND26,903 billion, an increase of VND4,609 billion compared with late last year, according to Hai Phong Customs Department.

To meet the target, the department has to collect 23,025 billion in the second half of the year. It will provide solutions to achieve the revenue target for the year.

According to the Head of the Import and Export Duty Division Nguyen Ngoc Khanh, the division advised the department’s leader to implement effective solutions for the whole department such as administrative reform, internal improvement to facilitate the business community, contributing to attracting businesses to carry out customs procedures at Hai Phong Customs Department.

Hai Phong Customs Department continues to monitor the revenue collection, prevent trade fraud and revenue loss, strengthen tax debt collection, and resolve problems for businesses.

Prevent tricks of tax evasion

As an area with a large number of firms carrying out customs procedures and huge volume of import and export goods, Hai Phong Customs Department is facing athe risk of tax evasion.

Over the years, the department has considered the anti-revenue loss as a key task. It has worked with the Import and Export Duty Department, the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department, the Post Clearance Audit Department, Risk Management Department and border gate customs branches to perform this task.

The division advised the department’s leader to issue official dispatches to effectively perform the task of revenue collection and anti- revenue loss. In these dispatches the department’s leader assigned tasks to each units with measures for anti-revenue loss via HS code, price and C/O” Khanh said.

By the end of May, the Head of the Import and Export Duty Division collected VND302 billion via anti-revenue loss measures.

These measures are aimed at creating a transparent, fair and healthy business environment for the business community and raising the awareness of legal compliance of enterprises in the Customs process.
