HCM City: Collecting over 52 billion VND from market management violation

Smuggled goods and counterfeit goods were destroyed by HCM City Market Management Branch on 13/6

Accordingly, there were only 1,819 cases of violations from specialized inspection, the amount of fines for administrative violations and proceeds from the sale of seized goods is up to 52 billion VND.

In addition, the Branch also organized the destruction of counterfeit goods, prohibited goods, goods not eligible for circulation that were worth more than 19 billion VND, especially the seized goods pending for sale was about 48 billion VND. Not only handling a large amount of smuggled goods and fake goods, the market management force also transferred 5 cases of trading prohibited goods to the investigation agency for handling with a total value of about 1.2 billion VND.

Moreover, the violated goods with large quantities are still tobacco, cosmetics, supplementary foods, processed foods. For cigarettes, from the beginning of the year, the market management force has handled 248 cases of violations, seized 87,843 packages of smuggled cigarettes, 45 motorbikes and 11 cars which were means of transport for transporting smuggled tobacco.

Previously, on 13/6, in Le Minh Xuan Industrial Park, Binh Chanh District, the HCM City Market Management Branch organized the destruction of large quantities of smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, and infringement goods of intellectual property rights which were seized from the recent violations cases. The amount of destroyed goods includes 12,845kg of fertilizer, chemicals; 2,407 watches of forged famous brands; nearly 1,200 cell phones, glasses, bags, wallets; 89,524 labels of paper, cloth, pants, shirts; 1,550 hearing aids, children's toys; 3,251kg of food; 50,129 cosmetic products; 29,731 packs of imported cigarettes.

The total value of destroyed goods is more than 20 billion VND, in that counterfeit goods and goods not eligible for circulation accounted for more than 19 billion VND.
