According to Hanoi Customs Department, between January and the second half of May, the number of entry and exit flights was equivalent to 220%, or 3,462 flights, compared with the same period of 2021.

From April 15 to May 15, the number flights saw a year-on-year increase of 310%, to 1,337.

In addition, between January and the second half of May, the number of exit and entry passengers surged by 473% to 456,000.

The number of passenger in May soared 1,103% to 196,000 passengers compared with a year ago.

The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam forecasts that in 2022, the volume of passengers is estimated to increase by 170% to 200% compared to 2021, to 42-47 million passengers, but still 40% down on 2019.

The number of passenger of the domestic flights is predicted to fall by 6%-10% to 33-35 million passengers compared with 2019. Meanwhile, the passenger of the international flights is expected to grow from 1,480% to 2,093% to 8.4 million-11million passengers compared with 2021, though still down 72%-83% compared with 2019.
