Preliminary assessment of Vietnam international merchandise trade performance in the second half of November, 2020

Vietnam‘s trade-in-goods from January to November of 2020 totaled US dollars 489.88 billion in value terms. It posted a increase of 3.6% (equivalent to USD 17.16 billion) from the same period of previous year. In which, the total merchandise exports value was up by 5.5% to US dollars 254.97 billion and the total merchandise imports value was up 1.7%, to US dollars 234.91 billion

.In the view of FDI traders, the value of exportation in the second half of November reached nearly USD 10.0 billion, up by 15.4% and the value of importation reached 8.18 billion, up by 5.7% as compared to the first half of November 2020. Therefore, from January to November of 2020, the total value of FDI merchandise trade went up by 9.5% to US dollar 333.46 billion.

Export:

When compared with the first half of November-2020, export of second half of November increased by 16%, mostly as a result of the upturn registered in computer electrical product ( up by 21.1% - 366 milion);

textile garments (up by 31.9% - USD 305 million);machine, tools and equipments (down by 14.1% - USD 185 millions); foot-wears (up by 24.6% - USD 163 million); …

In the second half of November 2020, import increased by 9.5 % when compared with the first half of November, mainly reflecting the upturn in computer electrical product ( up by 11.7% - 344 milion); machine, tools and equipments (up by 9 % - USD 144 millions)…;
