According to the Hanoi Customs Department, between January and October 15, the department carried out customs procedures for 15,354 flights or 454.4%, compared with the same period in 2021.

In October alone, the department processed customs procedures for 2,784 passenger flights, a year-on-year increase of 693%.

In addition to the increase in the number of flights, the number of passengers on exit and entry across Noi Bai International Airport also surged. In the ten months, Hanoi Customs Department cleared the luggage of 2,275,950 passengers, up 1,340 % compared with the previous year.

According to the department, the number of flights and passengers on entry and exit from now to the end of the year is expected to soar. Therefore, in addition to providing solutions to facilitate and perform quick customs clearance, the department will also strengthen solutions to prevent and fight against smuggling and commercial fraud by air.

Accordingly, the department has strengthened close control for risk flights from European countries. Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch has strictly inspected the goods and luggage of flight crew members and attendants.

The department has also focused on controlling drugs and precursors in targeted areas in the last months of the year, including airports, express delivery service and export processing zones, industrial parks, and bonded warehouses.
